In this meditation, we'll practice calming down our nervous system.
Hey, this is going to be a three minute meditation to help you reset when you're feeling overwhelmed. Let's start by finding a comfortable posture. And if it feels okay to do so, you can close your eyes. We'll take a deep breath together to begin. Breathing in through the nose.
Slowly back out through the mouth. As you settle in, you can invite your jaw to relax. Letting the shoulders be at ease. And the hands and the belly. We're going to explore three questions to help us reset right now.
The first question is, in what ways am I okay right now? In what ways am I okay right now? Just sense around you, feeling your body on the chair, your feet on the ground. Anything else that indicates you're okay right now. It's very settling for the nervous system to feel safe. And when we're overwhelmed, it's often because the nervous system is feeling a little unsafe with how much input is coming in. In what ways am I okay right now? The next question is, what can I control or influence right now? There may be a situation that feels mostly out of your hands.
You can't impact it in the way that maybe you want to or expected to. But what can you do in relationship to what's arising? What is something that you can influence and you can take action on? And the last question is, in what ways can I let be and trust? In what ways can I let be and trust? Let's take one closing breath together. In through the nose. Out through the mouth. And when you're ready, you can open your eyes.
Thank you for your practice. Hope this helps you feel a little bit more grounded and able to move into the next moment. Talk to you soon and take care.
