Hey, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about when will enough be enough. So take a moment to think about some of the things you're working toward in your life. The things you're applying, a lot of effort toward, or the things that you want to grow or make better. This might include your financial wellbeing, a sense of freedom you want to have with your time, or even just an idea of becoming a better version of yourself and once you get there, then I'll have that thing I'm looking for.
Now, all of this is important, very important to have goals and things we're working toward. Simultaneously it may serve us to periodically ask when will it be enough, whatever it is I'm working toward? And how will I know? When will it be enough? And how will I know? For me personally, I find it very easy to get caught on the treadmill of striving. And it's not uncommon to lose sight of why I'm working toward what I'm working toward in the first place. What is the end point? Is it a feeling? Is it a certain amount of getting something? Is it a certain amount of material things? And I'm curious if that resonates with you as well. We're just so caught up in trying to get somewhere that maybe we determined a while ago was important, that we've actually forgot what we're working toward and how will we even know once we've gotten there.
And without an understanding of knowing what we're working toward and what it will feel like, it can be hard to know if we've gotten it when we think we have, or if we have. So there's no right answer to this. And it's not to suggest that we stop applying effort toward our goals and our visions. But it's just a useful question to bring into the pursuit of things and life, to notice if we're just on the cycle of striving out of habit or is it more intentional and how can we make it more intentional. What does the end point look like? When will enough be enough and how will I know I've gotten what it is I'm trying to get? We'll explore some more of this in the meditation.
As always, thanks for your practice. Talk to you shortly and take care.
