Leading With Truth

Personalized support for learning how to integrate mindfulness into your life. Delivered fresh everyday by our world renowned experts. Choose meditation duration:

Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about leading with truth. Many of us avoid sharing what is true because we fear the consequences. This is especially true in our relationships. I recently came across a quote by Eugene Gendlin that I think offers a really helpful perspective on this.

So I wanted to share it with you. He says, "What is true is already so. Owning up to it, doesn't make it worse. Not being open about it, doesn't make it go away. And because it's true, it is what is there to be interacted with.

Anything untrue isn't there to be lived. People can stand what is true for they are already enduring it." Notice how this one lands for you. The last line really gets me. People can stand what is true for they are already enduring it. I think that's powerful.

Even though we might not be sharing our truth explicitly, the energetic implications of it are impacting the dynamic. By bringing it forward, we're at least holding it in the open so it can be interacted with and worked through with another. Yeah, I think all of these discernments are highly personal, so you can use your best judgment on when and how to share something that feels true in you. My goal is simply to offer different perspectives that may facilitate you living a more full, present and aligned life. Thank you for your practice.

Let's settle in for today's meditation.
