Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about finding solid ground. When many of us are looking for our ground, we tend to think of changing our life in some way that creates more stability, security, predictability. This could come through relationships, where we live, changing a job, et cetera. And if you follow my teachings and what we talk about here on Mindfulness.com, you know that this is highly valued.

How we organize our external world is incredibly important to our internal experience. But it's not the whole thing. And arguably it's not even the most important thing. And when it comes to having a solid ground to stand on, the external world is quite limited in what it can offer, because it's always changing. Therefore, the only way I believe to find solid ground to stand on is to find that ground within yourself, to create an internal home that is beautiful to live within, that feels peaceful and that allows you to move fluidly with the changing landscape of your life with more equanimity.

Anything else is an illusion created through a temporary arrangement of pleasant and predictable events. The good news is you're creating that solid internal ground just by being here and in putting in the practice. So thank you for that practice and let's settle in for today's meditation.
