Hi, welcome back to your Daily Mindfulness. In today's session, we're going to talk about acceptance and change. Shame pain, and self hate cause us to do things that serve a fear-based part of us. We date people who reinforce the feeling that we're not worthy of love. We work ourselves into the ground because we don't think we have value unless we prove our worth.

We might eat too much unhealthy food because it numbs a certain emotional pain. We maybe overexercise because it's the only thing that gives us a sense of control. Here's the thing. When we start to mend our relationship with ourselves, what motivates us is no longer fear and safety. Our motivation stems from a more natural life energy.

We pursue things because of intrinsic motivation, curiosity, compassion, excitement, care, joy, our natural life, energy. As Carl Rogers said, "The curious paradox is that when I accept myself exactly as I am, then I can change." So notice what your motivation for changes. Is it coming from fear or from love? And as you go about your day, see if you can ask yourself, what would I be doing if I were leading from love? Thank you for your practice. Let's settle in for today's meditation.
