Hi, welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Did do you know that you have 100 million neurons in your intestines? So the gut is now being referred to by many scientists as the gut brain. And your heart, in addition to its other functions, also acts as a heart brain. It's made up of about 40,000 neurons, all of which can sense, feel, learn, and remember. So you could say that we have three brains communicating together all at once.

And each of these organs has its own complex neural networks. It has the ability to store and process information, and each of them has the capacity for neuroplasticity. So each of them also has very different ways of what we could call knowing. So as you go about your day-to-day, just knowing that there's different ways that you can listen to yourself. There's different ways of knowing and in today's meditation, I'm going to take you through a practice called the head-heart-gut check-in, that's designed to help you make more, uh, full body, more integrated decisions.

So it's going to help you tune into and use the intelligence, wisdom and intuition of your three brains to make better decisions. So let's give it a try now.
