Mental strength involves your ability to think, act and perform at your best in any given circumstance. I'm Melli O'Brien, and that's what this Strength from Stillness course is all about. It's about becoming mentally strong. In this course, you're going to learn cutting edge, evidence-based ways to train your mind to be stronger. So what does that mean? Mental strength? Mental strength means three things.
That you're able to manage your thoughts skillfully, regulate your emotions in healthy ways, and you have the capacity to live according to your values no matter what life is throwing your way, even in the midst of very difficult times. And difficult times are upon us really aren't they? Life is getting more challenging. It's, it feels like we're getting squeezed. So I think these skills are more necessary than ever in order to kind of rise to the, the times that we're in. Ultimately, you know, what mental strength boils down to is it's all about living with awareness.
That's why mindfulness is really the backbone of this course. When we learn to tap into awareness, we not only learn how to be less reactive, how to unhook ourselves from unhelpful thoughts and emotions and how to ground ourselves in inner calm, but we also tap into what really is an enormous reservoir of inner strength. Because all the qualities that come with tapping into awareness include things like compassion, joy, creativity, wholeness, resilience. So these skills I'm going to teach in this course, I've, I've seen them work. I've seen them work for CEOs and athletes.
I've seen them work for busy moms and also their children. And they've worked for me too. In fact, my own motivation for wanting to teach these skills comes from my own firsthand experience of using these skills to break free from, quite frankly, debilitating mental struggles when I was younger and using them to help me access again, my own inner power, my own joy, my own love again. So my wish for you in sharing these skills with you is that this course brings you more freedom and peace of mind and helps you unlock your potential so that you can be your best self and, and enjoy life more. I look forward to walking beside you on this path to greater strength and wellbeing.
