Cultivate an attitude of playful curiosity through meditation and then learn how to bring it into your life.
So just taking a moment to get as comfortable as possible and settle in here for this meditation. As you settle in, allowing your eyes to lightly close, if that feels okay for you. And then taking a deep, slow, full breath in. And as you let the breath go, seeing if you can also let go of any tension or tightness in the body. And just letting your breath return to its own natural rhythm and pace now.
As you continue to stay in touch with the breath, just resting the mind on the feeling of the breath in the body. If it's not comfortable for you to feel the breath, you might like to listen to the sounds around you. So from the beginning of each inhale now to the end of each exhale, just seeing if you can meet the breath with an attitude of playful curiosity. The kind of attitude you might've had when you were a child exploring the world around you. So exploring the breath in that same way.
Feeling the nuances of the breath, the rhythms of it. Noticing everything you can about this experience of breathing. The way the body moves. Feeling all the sensations. The breath is something we so easily take for granted and overlook.
But isn't that a miracle, right now, your body is breathing? Right? It would be false to say you're breathing. The body is breathing for you. It's been doing that since the day you were born, keeping you alive with this gentle rhythmic flow, in and out of the body. And each breath is completely unique and it's also fleeting. It's only going to be breathed once.
So seeing if you can really be here fully for each and every breath. Exploring the breath. Enjoying the breath. Each moment of our lives, just like each breath, is unique, unrepeatable, fleeting. Each moment will only be lived once.
And by bringing curiosity and playfulness back into our moments, we live our lives more fully. So perhaps, if it feels right for you, making an intention now to bring this attitude out of your practice and into your life today, knowing that when you do that, you also invite into your life more vitality, upliftment, and joy. So as the practice now finishes, taking another deep breath in. And letting it go. Beginning to wriggle the fingers and toes.
And when you're ready, opening the eyes. And wishing you a wonderful day. Take care.
Playful Curiosity
