Hi, I'm Melli and welcome to your Daily Mindfulness. Over the next seven days, I'm going to guide you through an introduction to mindfulness. So through practicing mindfulness, you develop many new skills like how to unwind stress, how to become less reactive, how to break free from bad habits. And it also helps you become a more compassionate, authentic, and happy person. Over time, you can develop an unshakable core of confidence and calm that stays with you no matter what life throws in your way. In fact, by practicing mindfulness regularly, you can literally change the structure of your brain. Researcher Sara Lazar and her team at Harvard university have shown measurable changes in the brains of people who participated in a mindfulness course.

So to help you get started on your mindfulness journey, I'm going to be sharing with you a short lesson each day along with a guided meditation. And that process will take less than 15 minutes a day. But even with that small investment of your time, you'll gradually begin to notice the quality of your life changing. So let's get started with your first meditation.
