Journey out of addiction

For most of my adult life, I was a victim of addiction. When I got sick and tired of being sick and tired, I chose sobriety. But I knew I also needed help staying focused.

Mindfulness meditation came into play because it not only sharpened my awareness but also helped me stay present in each moment. I was able to be calm, attentive, and compassionate towards myself and others. It has been a blessing in my life.

My wife and I chose a different intention every month, like gratitude, balance, compassion, etc. Through this regular practice, I have found the person I truly am.

Incorporating mindfulness into my daily life has pulled me out of the hole of despair, and I am forever grateful.

Sharing the gift with others

My wife and I have been facilitating a mindfulness group for about 10 years now.

We use our daily practice to keep our lives balanced and present. And I know through experience that if I am aware and present, then I will be able to be of service to others.

The advice I would give to someone starting out with mindfulness is:
